EGMC Announces Premier Holiday Concert ‘Coming Out for Christmas’

Have you ever wondered if Eugene has a Gay Men’s Chorus? Mark your calendars, because Eugene’s first ever Gay Men’s Chorus has finally formed and we’re Coming Out for the Holidays in our debut concert performance! Save the date of December 1st at 7:00pm, in the sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church at 440 Maxwell Road in Eugene. We’ll serenade you with songs from many holiday traditions and welcome you in with holiday cheer.

The chorus came together last spring at an open house promoted to gauge an interest among singers in the gay community. Rehearsals commenced early in the summer and the chorus was asked to perform at a concert in Eugene with the mixed choir, Influence which is an ensemble group of Salem’s Confluence choir. Later this summer, the chorus sang to enthusiastic crowds at this year’s Pride Celebration at Alton Baker park in August.

Evan Miles, the Artistic Director of EGMC, received his Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Oregon and was recently featured as a conductor of the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus during their historic trip to China this past summer.

Tickets are available in advance from choristers or at the door. Prices are general admission at $15 and student at $10. Payment can be cash, check or Visa or Mastercard. Refreshments will be served.
